Chrysanthemum is a remake of an action-puzzle game first released in 1993 by Ryan Koopmans. This 2025 remake features all-new code, art, music, sound effects, levels, and game features.

Arrange flowers that float in from one of four directions. Completed arrangements of four (or more) flowers count toward a level's quota. For a detailed explanation, see the "Instructions" section in-game.

High scores are only saved locally. Feel free to share yours in the comments (and include which game mode it was)!

Sounds interesting! I'm excited to try it out - especially with all the new features added for 2025.

You look like the type of person who'd enjoy this jam: WOW JAM

They have a very interesting platform and are even offering prizes xD

Amazing recreation! I made it to level 18 on my first real try since childhood!

wow, your skill has certainly carried over after such a long time! I also found that I could play well after a long time away. I think this game just takes some getting used to and then you can pick it up and put it down any time. I'm glad you enjoyed it - thanks so much for playing and commenting!

I think I got lucky 'cause I remember some of those levels being insanely hard. XD

level 19 "straightjacket" is the most unfair and hard IMO. You need to depend on vertical spawns  and then stick a flower on the outside of the "tubes".

I made a few hard levels too for the "Prolific" mode. Currently there are 44 random levels that can be selected but I'm about to patch in 16 more in v1.01 this weekend :D

(EDIT: this week of the 28th)

I gotta try your original levels, too

They've been a lot of fun to come up with! I tried to split the screen up in various ways, try unique wall orientations, and balance a lot of small/easy levels with a few tricky ones. I'm always open for feedback on them. I'm not sure who has tried Prolific mode yet.

Wow that’s tough! I made it to level 4 on Tasteful after several attempts. You really have to be bold and decisive with where you place the flowers, since indecision will cause the time limit to ruin the run. Very cool!

Thank you very much, Mark, for playing and commenting! You're right, it's got a high skill floor! It's that old-school kind of design. I added a "Zen" mode in the settings to turn off the timer, for people who want to relax or practice, but didn't advertise it. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and play!
